Anna Maria D’Ortenzio (she/her) is a multi-faceted, NYC-based artist who grounds her craft in creativity, imagination, and originality. She is both a musical theatre and operatic vocalist, a theatre director, and a playwright/ composer.

Regarding her directing career, Anna Maria has directed over 13 projects, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Carrie: The Musical, and numerous original works. She has also directed the Chicago world premiere of the award-winning original musical Turing, by Timothy Michuda and Benjamin Ward, at The Greenhouse Theatre. Most recently, Anna Maria made her professional directing debut at The Towle Theatre with POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying To Keep Him Alive.

Anna Maria is also an operatic and musical theatre vocalist with over fourteen years of bel canto training. Some of her recent roles include "Alice Murphy” in Bright Star, “Margaret” in Carrie: The Musical, “Audrey” in Little Shop of Horrors, “Nina” in In The Heights, “Lady Macbeth” in Macbeth, and “Jo” in Little Women.

She is a vocal coach and has a studio of nineteen students. She specializes in building an audition book, working on technique, and teaching about vocal health and sustainability.

Anna Maria graduated in 2025 from The Theatre School at DePaul University with a BFA in Theatre Arts and a minor in Operatic Vocal Performance. Currently, she is a student at the Mannes School of Music at The New School in NYC, receiving her master’s degree in Classical Voice Performance.
